Car up on lift at Auto DIY - self service garage in Glasgow

Auto DIY - Self Service Garage Glasgow

So, you’re based in Glasgow and you have a car, bike, scooter or light commercial vehicle but stay in a flat or don’t have any private land to use to maintain and repair it. Did you know you can now take your car to Auto-DIY where you can rent a bay, and/or a hydraulic lift for your car or bike? When’s the last time you were able to do that at home? Don’t you sometimes think to yourself, “If only I could get the car up on a lift, I could fix that myself and wouldn’t have to take it to the garage!”. Well, now you can, at a fraction of the cost of taking it to your garage.

Have a look at our website to see what we have on offer.

The workshop consists of:

  • 2 Hydraulic lifts (2 post, 4 tonne lifting capacity each)
  • 3 bays
  • Motorcycle lift
  • “Off car” working area
  • Various hand tools
  • 10 tonne bench press
  • Parts washer
  • Floor mounted coil spring compressor
  • Air tools
  • Diagnostic code reader
  • Engine Timing tools and Cylinder head tools.

So if you stay in central Scotland and maintain your own vehicle – give us a call!

2011 Nissan GT-R

2011 Nissan GT-R

2011 Nissan GT-R from Pistonheads.com

As ever, Pistonheads are first with all the best news and it doesn’t come much better than this. Although to get your hands on this particular beauty, you’ll have to find a spare £70k kicking around – and that’s before you’ve insured the beast!

Although Nissan revealed the 2011 GT-R at the Paris motorshow earlier this month, they’ve not been idly sipping champagne on the Champs Elysees in celebration ever since – oh no. They’ve been busy tweaking and then tweaking some more under the hood to make sure it’s as good as it can be.

Head over to Pistonheads for the full scoop, but suffice to say that the power has taken a jump from 487bhp to a whopping 523bhp and torque has also gone up by 18lb ft to 451 lb ft.

It might be a while before we see one of these in at Auto-DIY. We can but dream!

1969 Karmann Ghia

Perfect in every way

This shining example of a 1969 Karmann Ghia belongs to a very lucky Ben Coates and is featured this month in the latest edition of Volksworld magazine. You can pick up some free wallpaper of this badboy right here.

We love this car and think this photo almost has a graphic-novel look to it, like it’s right out of Gotham City!
